Following government policy sent to all dental practices in Scotland, we regret that we are unable to see or treat any patients for the foreseeable future. However, we are here if you need us for anything: please check the ‘Help & Advice’ section of this website or get in touch via e-mail or phone.
For those wearing braces, you’ll be pleased to hear that they will continue to work safely for weeks without our intervention - as long as they are kept CLEAN and not damaged. Retainers must continue to be worn as prescribed by your orthodontist.
If you run out of aligners or elastics, stick with your last set and we will get things back on track when life returns to normal. Until then, we hope that our patients, their friends and families all stay healthy during these worrying times.
Stay safe everyone.
As a team, we help our patients build confidence by providing them with a smile they can grin about. We are aware that, unfortunately, there are some young people who need more than braces to help them through life. The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (formally Yorkhill Children’s Charity) is based at the new Children’s Hospital in Glasgow. They raise money to support over 160’000 babies, children and young people who need treatment there every year through various events and donations.
The money is used for improving medical equipment, providing play programmes for the children, supporting the families involved and funding future research to ensure this world class service is maintained and improved.
It is a charity close to the hearts of our team and over the last few years we have worked hard to contribute however possible.
Our main fundraising tool has been the donation of £1 for every toothbrush, mouthwash, retainer cleaner or tube of toothpaste we sell at our front desk. Through this scheme we have raised over £2000 since 2011. As well as putting money to a good cause, it is good to know that our patients are keeping their teeth and appliances clean! To add to this we have coin collection tubs which fill up quickly thanks to our generous patients!
In 2018 we will continue to raise money in the practice although several team members are feeling a bit more active so sponsorship will be sought for the Glasgow Kilt Walk http://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk in April. These are a series of 26 mile walks held in Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow throughout the summer and are a great excuse to get the kilts on. Looking to the future, we may even talk some of the team into doing a half marathon someday! But one step at time.
As ever, we are extremely grateful to all our patients and their families for supporting us in this incredibly worthwhile cause.
We are incredibly proud to sponsor young Scottish gymnast Taylor Richardson.
Taylor is 12 years old from Blantyre and is the youngest gymnast from Scotland to be selected for the National Team.
Taylor has already won many Scottish Titles, competed for her country four times and now competes on the British circuit. Taylor’s last competition was at British Levels where she was ranked third in Britain on her favourite apparatus: Bars.
Her ambition is to represent her country at Commonwealth and Olympic Games but to achieve this goal there is a huge amount of hard work and sacrifice.
Taylor currently trains 26 hours per week at Dynamic Gymnastics Academy within the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility and travels across the UK to compete at weekends.
By sponsoring Taylor, Park Orthodontics helps contribute towards her National Squad training and competition entry fees which we hope will help in some way to her realising her dreams.
Good luck Taylor!
