Following government policy sent to all dental practices in Scotland, we regret that we are unable to see or treat any patients for the foreseeable future. However, we are here if you need us for anything: please check the ‘Help & Advice’ section of this website or get in touch via e-mail or phone.
For those wearing braces, you’ll be pleased to hear that they will continue to work safely for weeks without our intervention - as long as they are kept CLEAN and not damaged. Retainers must continue to be worn as prescribed by your orthodontist.
If you run out of aligners or elastics, stick with your last set and we will get things back on track when life returns to normal. Until then, we hope that our patients, their friends and families all stay healthy during these worrying times.
Stay safe everyone.
I have had a fantastic result with them and I am really happy and I am so delighted that I have gone ahead with them and now I can smile with confidence.
We are delighted to be one of the few practices in Scotland with years of experience in treating patients with this exciting technology. Andrew McGregor has now improved over 100 smiles with lingual braces and they are fast becoming one of our most popular treatment types in adults.
Lingual braces can be used to straighten any misaligned teeth or bite problems, using state of the art fixed braces that are attached to the inside of the teeth. This allows us to put the teeth into the correct position without the braces having to be seen!
If you are considering having lingual braces fitted in Glasgow then please use our contact form and one of our team will be in touch to discuss your options.
It is worth considering that lingual braces have become increasingly popular with a lot of actors and actresses who are searching for a method that won’t be as noticeable as traditional orthodontic braces. Unlike standard brackets which generally come out a packet and are ‘one size fits all’, lingual braces are custom-made for each tooth. Please see the product website https://www.myharmonysmile.com for more information about this.
Lingual braces are located behind the teeth, making them virtually invisible. Their location also ensures that they have no impact on facial structure.
Although located on the inner side of the teeth, lingual braces essentially work in the same way as traditional braces. This makes lingual braces an attractive option for patients who require substantial teeth straightening, but want their orthodontic treatment to be more discreet.
Each bracket fixed to your teeth will be custom-made, making the treatment comfortable and effective.
At your first consultation, one of our specialists will examine your teeth and you will be able to ask any questions regarding lingual braces or other treatments available for your case. Your first appointment with us should take approximately half an hour.
Once you have decided to straighten your teeth with Lingual Braces, our specialists will undertake a more detailed assessment of your dental health, which will include X-rays and pictures. This assessment will help our team in the planning your treatment.
Once your treatment plan is established, we will be able to fit your braces. We will thoroughly clean your teeth to then attach the braces on your teeth. You may initially experience a slight discomfort, however this will settle quickly and you will soon forget you are wearing braces.
In order to monitor your treatment and make adjustments, you will need to come in for consultations regularly. Usually, we need to see our patients every 6 to 8 weeks.
Time to enjoy your perfect smile. However, since Lingual Braces are located behind your teeth, you will have already been able to do so before we remove the braces.
The British Lingual Orthodontic Society(BLOS) has produced these fantastic videos featuring real patients. We highly recommend you spend some time watching them to understand these incredible invisible braces:
