The Ins and Outs of Invisalign Treatment

Table of Contents

Invisalign treatment is an innovative orthodontic procedure that offers an effective and discreet way to straighten teeth.

Unlike traditional ‘fixed’ braces, Invisalign aligners are made of smooth, comfortable material and are nearly impossible to detect when worn. This makes them the perfect option for people who want to improve their smile without having to deal with the feel and appearance of metal braces. The process involves wearing a series of removable aligners over time as they gradually move your teeth into place.

However, we would like to point out that all types of braces have their place as treatment options. At the end of the day, it all comes down to your specific wants and needs, and we will take great care in prescribing the right orthodontic treatment for you.

We’ll delve deeper as the article goes on. So, let’s learn all there is to know about Invisalign treatment!

Invisalign Treatment Review: Price

An increasingly popular alternative to traditional braces that offers a discreet and comfortable experience, Invisalign treatment provides numerous advantages.

As we mentioned earlier in the article, using computer-generated clear aligners that are swapped out every 5-14 days, Invisalign straightens teeth gradually with less noticeable metal materials and without needing to be tightened or adjusted by an orthodontist.

However, a question that might wander through your mind, considering the innovative process that this procedure implies, is how much does the Invisalign treatment cost?

The treatment typically costs more than metal braces or ceramic braces for the same level of correction. The exact cost of treatment will vary depending on the complexity of the case and the length of time needed to achieve the desired results.

The total cost may also be affected by additional treatments that can go into having the Invisalign smile you’re hoping for. For utmost clarity, you can have a look at our pricing structure below:

Perhaps the most significant benefit of choosing Invisalign over conventional braces is that it offers a far easier removal method. This means that there is less risk of damage to teeth and gums.

Additionally, they are more comfortable than metal braces since they don’t have sharp edges. So, is Invisalign treatment painful? Considering the statistic on the Invisalign website which says that 14 million smiles have been transformed using this procedure, and from personal experience and patient feedback, the honest answer to this question is that the experience is not as uncomfortable as wearing a fixed brace. Therefore, pain-wise Invisalign can be the better option.

Overall, we can confirm that in most situations Invisalign treatment does come at a higher cost than traditional methods. However, it offers numerous advantages for those looking for an easier experience with potentially quicker results. With its minimal impact on appearance and comfort levels during treatment, many patients end up finding out that the benefits are worth the extra investment in their smile makeover!

More so, we have various finance options available. You can find out more here.

Invisalign Treatment Review: Design

invisalign aligner

As a modern orthodontic solution that can provide patients with straighter teeth in a convenient and discreet manner, this innovative treatment uses a custom-made, advanced, clear aligner system to guide teeth into their desired positions slowly. Through this approach, a problem such as gapped teeth is a thing of the past.

So, how does Invisalign work? The process begins with a visit to an experienced orthodontist. This is when you will discuss your dental health needs and create a 3D digital model of your mouth, which is then used to design the customised aligners. Crucially, you are involved in the final design of your smile!

The aligners are made from SmartTrack material, a patented thermoplastic that moulds to teeth for more comfortable and effective results. Each individual tray is crafted to fit snugly over your teeth, gently pushing them into their new position over several days. As the teeth move into place, new aligners are worn until the desired results are achieved.

With its unique design materials and thoughtful approach to orthodontic care, this revolutionary treatment makes for an excellent choice for those looking for straighter smiles in a subtle way.

Invisalign Treatment Review: The Patient’s Perspective

We said it once before, and we’ll say it again — the process begins with a comprehensive oral examination by your orthodontist. We will use X-rays, photographs, and iTero scanning to create a 3D model of your teeth, which will be used to determine the exact positioning of each tooth throughout treatment.

Using this information and working with you, we will develop a personalised treatment plan that includes customised aligners shaped specifically to fit your mouth.

Once you start your Invisalign treatment, you’ll need to wear each set of aligners throughout the day and night, switching them out every week or as directed by your orthodontist.

The removable nature of Invisalign allows you to brush and floss as usual while also giving you the flexibility of taking breaks from wearing the aligners – such as during special events or important meetings. However, it’s important that you wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day in order for them to be as effective as a traditional brace.

During the course of your Invisalign treatment, you may experience some mild discomfort as your teeth adjust to their new positions – this is normal and should subside within two days after switching sets of aligners.

It typically takes around 12 months for most people to complete their Invisalign treatments; however, this can vary depending on individual needs and cases. Some of our patients have completed treatment in half the time.

At each checkup appointment with us, we will assess how well the current set works and make adjustments as necessary until all desired results are achieved. However, if you don’t fancy coming in each time, we can assess your progress remotely as well. This is done with the help of the Invisalign Virtual Care app.

Patient Testimonials

Customer service

To bring you extra comfort and one step closer to making your first appointment with us, we thought it best to include a couple of testimonials from our previous patients. We hope this will put your mind at ease.

“I have just finished my Invisalign treatment after 1.5 years and cannot thank Andrew and the rest of the team for all their hard work and support. I have been a patient of Park Orthodontics since my first set of braces when I was 11, however, I was lazy with my retainers, and ultimately, my teeth shifted. I had a consultation with Andrew, and he advised me that Invisalign would be a great option for the smile I wanted to achieve and would work best for me personally as I only had to visit the practice every few months for my next pack of aligners. The team was very attentive and worked hard to help me achieve the perfect smile, which has helped me regain my confidence. I highly recommend the team, as they make a great effort to put you at ease and guide you through each step of the process. Thank you again for helping to restore my confidence; I no longer hide my teeth in photos and finally have a smile to be proud of.” (Natalie McCracken)

“Totally enjoyed my Invisalign experience. The Park Orthodontics team has looked after me from start to finish, and their expertise and knowledge are first class, and the results of my smile are the best I’ve ever had. Totally love the results of my smile and would highly recommend Parks Orthodontics to anyone looking for their perfect smile.” (Anjum Ali)
